Your research. Your choices.
How Land Uncovered handles your information and helps you stay in control.
About this notice
This notice covers Land Uncovered LLC’s public information website and account-based research application. Customer signup and the $12 monthly membership checkout are available. Saved research remains private to the account that saved it. Sandbox payments are fictional and do not create a paid membership.
Information you choose to save
Your account links your sign-in identity, email, chosen display name and profile dates to your saved properties, notes, reviewed text excerpts, sketches and research snapshots. Saved reports can include precise property locations. We use this information to provide your research workspace; it is not a public profile or public property list.
Older browser-only saves and preferences stay on the browser where they were created. Optional text-file tools read excerpts locally for your review; the original file is not uploaded by that tool. An excerpt you choose to save becomes part of your saved research.
Searching and viewing maps
As you type a town or address, we request suggestions from U.S. Census or county sources and, when needed for an address, Photon’s OpenStreetMap search service. This happens before you choose Explore. The search text passes through our server; we do not include your customer account ID, email or private notes in these provider requests. The text itself may identify a property you are interested in.
Suggestions may be reused for up to five minutes in your open page and, for Census and Photon responses, up to one minute in server memory. They are not added to your saved properties. Choosing a suggestion does not save a property to your account; you decide what to save.
Address searches, parcel identifiers, coordinates and boundaries are sent to the application and relevant public-data services to answer your request. Map providers receive requests for the map areas you view. These providers may also process connection information under their own policies.
Using your device’s location is optional and requires browser permission. You can search for an area or address instead. Source results are cached separately from private notes. How long a result is reused depends on the source and its purpose; dated map evidence can be kept longer than changing weather. Optional visit-planning checks are cached for up to five minutes, and the app asks you to refresh older checks before traveling. Opening a saved report does not refresh its evidence.
The services that help us run the site
Cloudflare hosts the application and database and provides access protection for restricted operator tools. Clerk handles customer sign-in. Stripe handles billing, and Microsoft hosts our support email. The public information site uses Sites hosting. Relevant government-data and map services supply research information.
We store billing references, membership status and payment-event records needed to manage access and resolve billing issues. Card details are entered directly with Stripe; we do not store card numbers in the application. Providers maintain their own service and security records under their terms and privacy policies.

Parcel maps and optional visit planning
Land Records supplies the nationwide lot-line map and selected-property records. Requests to that service contain the map area, location or parcel reference needed for the check. Its key stays on our server.
When you choose to check the surrounding area, our server requests forecasts and weather notices from the National Weather Service, nearby water observations from USGS, and county matching from the U.S. Census Bureau. County wildfire summaries from the USDA Forest Service are stored with the application. These requests do not include your account identity, email or private notes, although a location itself may identify a property.
The visit checklist stays on the open page. You can download a guide with your checked items and the information you loaded; those choices are not added to your account or used to change your saved research. Official source links take you to the named provider, whose own privacy practices apply.
Keeping the service reliable
Request counts and limited security records help prevent account abuse, enforce research allowances and investigate problems. Hosting and sign-in providers also process connection and security information. This public information site has no signup form, payment collection or advertising trackers.
We also keep daily totals of search outcomes, property reviews, completed reports and export requests for up to 90 days. These totals do not include account identifiers, search text, addresses, parcel numbers or private notes. Separate account request counters enforce usage limits.
If you contact support, we receive the information you include and use it to help you. Please do not email passwords, verification codes or full payment-card details.
How long information is kept
Saved research stays with your account while it is open, even if you cancel membership. Our approved closure policy is to process verified account-closure requests within 30 days, retaining necessary billing records for seven years and limited account security records for up to 90 days after closure. Required legal or tax holds can extend retention where necessary.
Closing an account removes its profile and saved research from the active application through a verified support process. Billing resolution and sign-in removal are part of that process. Provider backups and records follow their documented retention rules; we do not promise immediate erasure from every backup or from records a provider must retain. Copies you downloaded or shared are outside our control.
Feedback you choose to send
When you send feedback while signed in, we send the message and any reply email you choose to provide to our support inbox at hello@landuncovered.com through our email delivery provider, Resend. We do not automatically include your property, report, notes or account profile, and feedback does not enroll you in marketing emails. We retain limited account-linked delivery records for 30 days to prevent duplicates and troubleshoot delivery, unless a specific hold requires review. Separate body-free records of completed sending attempts are kept for 32 days after their outcome is recorded; uncertain delivery attempts and held records remain until reviewed. Aggregate sending counters remain while the sending configuration is in use to protect against duplicate or excess sending. Existing security request logs follow the security retention described in this policy. Our support inbox retains your message for handling and separately reviewed cleanup; there is no automatic mailbox deletion schedule. You may request access or removal through hello@landuncovered.com; we verify identity and explain applicable holds and available next steps. Application cleanup does not itself delete copies retained by our email providers.
Membership and optional emails
Customer lifecycle emails are being prepared and remain disabled while delivery is tested. The following describes how those emails will be handled when enabled.
When you join a membership, we use your account's verified primary email to send getting-started information after your first successful payment. This does not subscribe you to optional updates or the founder note. If you choose optional emails, we record that choice separately and you can unsubscribe. Clerk supplies the verified primary address and current account status; Resend processes recipient addresses, message content and technical delivery information. We do not attach saved properties, reports or private notes. Replies go to the sender's Land Uncovered mailbox.
In our application database, we keep the account-bound address and verification, separate email permissions and their wording and time, consent history, eligibility evidence, delivery outcomes, and records needed to prevent duplicate messages. Capability lookup records store digests rather than raw link tokens; outgoing message bodies can contain those links until eligible cleanup. Optional messages include an unsubscribe link; using it does not cancel your membership.
Settled lifecycle message bodies and selected completed request, attempt and applied delivery records become eligible for cleanup after 32 days, subject to active links, unresolved delivery, active processing and holds. Message-body eligibility is measured from the latest creation, first-attempt or acceptance time. Expired confirmation associations can be compacted after settlement is older than 32 days. Confirmation links last 24 hours; unsubscribe links last 90 days. Expired unsubscribe link records become eligible for cleanup 32 days after expiry, subject to holds and batch processing. Bounded cleanup runs in batches, so eligibility is not a promise of deletion at an exact time.
Uncertain deliveries and held records remain until reviewed. Minimal consent, withdrawal, unsubscribe, address and account associations, once-only message history, initial paid-action evidence, compact delivery associations and aggregate accounting remain as needed to honor preferences, reconcile delivery and prevent duplicates. These records remain personal information. Eligible abandoned unverified contacts can be removed when no active or uncertain dependency remains. After completed account closure, raw email contact details can become eligible for redaction after 32 days, retaining a digest to honor suppression and once-only history. This does not mean all email data is deleted after 32 days.
This email policy does not change saved-research, billing, security or feedback retention described elsewhere in this notice. It does not automatically delete messages from our mailboxes or copies retained by email providers. You may request access, correction or removal through hello@landuncovered.com; we verify identity and explain applicable holds and available next steps.
Download, remove or close
You can export individual reports and download a private research archive from Account. The customer workspace does not currently have an individual saved-property removal control. To request removal, email hello@landuncovered.com; we will verify your identity and explain the available next steps. This does not change your privacy rights or the account-closure policy. The archive contains your profile and account-saved research, including notes and property locations. It does not include older browser-only saves, billing records or sign-in logs, and cannot currently be imported back into the app.
To correct account information, ask a privacy question or request closure, email hello@landuncovered.com. We’ll verify that the request comes from you before acting. A support email does not instantly cancel billing or delete data; we’ll help resolve renewal, export and closure together.
Optional advertising measurement
On our homepage, membership and payment-confirmation pages, you can choose whether to allow Google Ads measurement. It helps us understand whether an ad leads to a first paid membership. Saying no does not affect your account, membership or research. Google measurement does not load before you allow it. Your choice applies across landuncovered.com and app.landuncovered.com; you can change it on those pages.
If you allow measurement, Google receives advertising click and cookie identifiers, the purchase amount and currency, a random transaction reference, event timing and normal browser connection information such as IP address and browser details. We limit this feature to those public pages. We do not send your email or name, payment-card or billing-address details, sign-in identity, property searches, parcel information, reports or private notes through this feature. We do not use it for enhanced conversions, customer lists, remarketing or personalized advertising.
The shared consent and measurement cookies use the parent domain landuncovered.com. They can therefore accompany normal browser requests to matching subdomains, including our Cloudflare-hosted application and the Clerk sign-in host at clerk.landuncovered.com. This is distinct from loading a Google tag: our Google tag does not run on sign-in, account, Saved, research or report pages. No application code adds advertising identifiers to links to Stripe or to your account.
Your choice and the measurement cookies we configure last up to 30 days, without renewal on ordinary page views. Our internal checkout-consent associations expire after 30 days. Purchase amount, invoice digest and payment-time fields become eligible for bounded cleanup after 30 days; cleanup runs in batches, so this is not an exact deletion deadline. A minimal account association, random transaction reference and once-paid or withdrawal record remain while the related account/billing record is retained, to honor choices and prevent duplicate reporting. These remain personal information. Specific holds may require longer retention. This does not change the research, billing, security, feedback or email policies elsewhere in this notice.
Turning measurement off clears the matching first-party measurement cookies and prevents new conversion calls from our application in this browser. Other open measurement pages recheck the shared choice when active or resumed and reload to remove a previously loaded tag. Requests already sent or in progress cannot be recalled. Google's own retention and privacy practices apply to information it receives; our 30-day setting does not delete Google's records. Your private account archive includes our account-linked measurement metadata, but not browser cookies or Google-held records. Contact hello@landuncovered.com for access, correction or removal requests; we verify identity and explain available next steps.
